a.m. 3 miles...
Warmup
4X400 with 30 seconds rest. at Hell Field. Goal of hitting my splits between 76 and 80 seconds and just getting a feel for some faster running
(79, 76, 74, 71). It was fun to run faster and despite the regular tightness, I felt good.
Warmdown-Saw the Gazelle scouting out the OCY Tri Course!
p.m. 4++ miles in Grills Preserve w/Kelsey. I've been wanting to introduce her to this area for awhile. Not sure she enjoyed bushwhacking!! Note to self--save those kinds of trails for runs with the guys!
Monday, September 24th
a.m. 15 minute stretch
p.m. 6 mile run down to windy Atlantic Ave, looped back around on the beach, and covered a few miles in Weekapaug. The views of BI were unbelievable. Lots of dudes fishing. Sore calves.
Tuesday, September 25th
a.m. 15 minute stretch
p.m. 6- Just under 6 miles on local roads around 6:30 pace. Decided to try to chase down a fellow runner who was way up ahead of me on Weekapaug Road. My goal was to catch him by the time we hit the lights at the Shore Road intersection. My game of Pac Man ended with a close call, but I didn't catch him in time. Like my Dad says, "Almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades."
Wednesday, September 26th
7 mile early morning run with Jeff from my house, through local neighborhoods, Fenway Beach, and back around. It was kind of neat to find a street or two in Westerly that the Gazelle was not familiar with. Normally, he is the one introducing me to new streets and places. Solid pace, solid effort, and an enjoyable start to the day.
